Meet Greg Hilliard and Richard Kelch.
Greg Hilliard and Richard Kelch are both keen divers with decades of experience behind them. They have both been trained for years in deep diving, cave diving, DPV use and CCR. Both are rated ship’s masters and dive extensively in the Great Lakes in the summer months and warmer locales in the winter. In 2023 they launched Subsea Propulsion Systems to continue the support and development of the vaunted scooters originally developed by Submerge Scooters.
Subsea Propulsion Systems is an Ontario Canada based Manufacturer who offers two out of this world models of DPV’s. The Magnus and The Viper.
The basic philosophy at Subsea is based on the heritage of the scooters that we build. These machines are built to penetrate the longest and deepest caves in the world. We understand that not all divers that you see may not be the same as the divers who push these to the limits of their ability BUT we build every scooter to that same standard.
Magnus
The standard in deep rated technical DPV’s. Now boasting a stock 1320 Watt/Hr Lithium Ion battery pack, this machine provides hours of range and power. The battery management system features a Bluetooth enabled monitoring function that allows you to remotely check charge, charging status and readiness to dive.
Vortex speed control allows for full range of control over velocity so that you can match your buddy’s pace at all times. Comes standard with both the exclusive Anuk system that allows for rapid tethering to the diver when not in motion or towing of spare scooter. Stock, proprietary torque reduction fins counteract the torque-steer that other DPV’s are prone to. Each Magnus is hand built in North America and leaves our factory Ready to Ride. We pride ourselves in our workmanship. Each Subsea scooter is fully tested for trim and pitch before shipping. You should not expect to spend hours trimming a scooter other than fine-tuning to your preferences.
Viper
More that the little sibling of the Magnus, the Viper comes stock with an 840 Watt/Hr. Lithium-Ion battery and proven motor technology that provides range galore. Speed control is achieved via a variable pitch propellor and a three speed Venom motor controller that allows you to ramp up the power at the twist of your wrist. Also, stock are torque reduction fins and the exclusive Anuk system.
The Viper has been described as the perfect cave diving scooter. Perfectly balanced with the range to get you to the Henkel and back with plenty of range to spare.
The battery pack features the same Bluetooth monitoring as the Magnus for real-time control.
As with the Magnus, all Vipers are tank tested for trim and pitch-roll prior to shipping. We pride ourselves that every scooter that we deliver will be Ready to Ride. No more fiddling with trim for hours, you should expect to fine tune your machine's trim only to your taste.
